Bill Wosilius is a seasoned leader with over 25 years of executive leadership experience in the tech-enabled services sector, having spent the majority of his career in the cybersecurity, data center, and IT services industries. He has led organizations in excess of $100 million in annual revenue, with hundreds of employees and thousands of customers located both domestically and internationally. Nearly all of his career has been spent leading in Private Equity sponsored businesses, and serving on numerous non-profit and for-profit boards.
Bill was most recently the CEO of NexusTek, an Abry Partners portfolio company, and leader in the information technology outsourcing space. During his tenure, he spearheaded the creation of a national platform through 8 successful M&A integrations, culminating in a successful recapitalization in 2023. Bill’s work passions lie in 2 places: world-class customer service, and developing the next generation of business leaders.
His drive to be “the largest Managed IT Service Provider in the US with the highest customer satisfaction” resulted in achieving both goals including an industry-leading 56 Net Promoter Score from NexusTek’s 1,500 clients. His passion for developing future leaders led to the creation of the NexusTek Leadership Academy, an annual “executive MBA-style” leadership program which, to date, has produced over 80 graduates – many of whom have already moved into C-level leadership positions.
Before NexusTek, Bill was the Vice President and General Manager of Global Technology Solutions at Optiv Security, a Blackstone and KKR portfolio company, and the largest pure-play cybersecurity solutions integrator in the world. At Optiv, he led the technology consulting line of business, delivering cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions to over 5,000 clients, including 70% of the Fortune 500. Prior to Optiv, his leadership journey includes roles as Senior Vice President/CIO at CoreSite, and senior leadership positions at Critigen, Sungard Availability Services, and Inflow where he developed his foundational personal leadership philosophy.
Bill’s leadership roots trace back to his service as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force, where he led F-15 maintenance units and contributed to the early development program of the F-22. He served on Active Duty for nearly 8 years, and deployed in support of Operation Deny Flight in 1995, enforcing the no-fly zone over the former Yugoslavia.
Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the United States Air Force Academy where he was also a 2-time letterwinner and Western Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete in football. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Logistics Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology, and is a passionate advocate for veterans’ initiatives. He currently serves on the board of Project One Veteran at a Time (POVAT), a 501c3 organization dedicated to assisting military veterans in securing their benefits with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Bill’s extensive leadership experience and commitment to helping others make him an ideal mentor for aspiring leaders. He and his wife Courtney reside in Golden, CO, and are proud parents of four adult children. Bill is dedicated to fostering the next generation of leaders and is eager to share his knowledge and expertise to help others achieve their full potential.
Latitude 40 Leadership was born out of a shared vision and a wealth of experience in the tech industry. Bill has spent his career as a CEO, private equity operating advisor, and board member. His wife and business partner, Courtney, is a multiple-time Chief People Officer and board member with experience working with a variety of private equity firms. Throughout their careers, they have developed a profound belief that leadership is a skill, not an art, and must be learned and practiced to become truly effective.
Their journey in leadership has been shaped by diverse perspectives and experiences, both personally and professionally. Both Bill and Courtney have learned from “the school of hard knocks” because no organization existed to help them develop their executive leadership skills along the way.
Latitude 40 Leadership was founded with the goal of teaching the lessons Bill and Courtney wished they had learned 20+ years ago, sparing others from the same missteps and challenges they faced. Latitude 40 Leadership is designed to impart practical leadership skills, honed through years of experience, to help others navigate their leadership journeys more smoothly.
The term “Latitude 40” stems from the diverse backgrounds and perspectives that Bill and Courtney come from. Bill spent his formative years in Anchorage, Alaska, (60 degrees of latitude), while Courtney was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii (20 degrees of latitude). The difference between these latitudes — 60 minus 20 — equals 40 degrees, symbolizing the blend of unique experiences and insights. The logo contains both palm trees, mountains, and fighter jets as a tribute to their heritage.
At Latitude 40 Leadership, we are passionate about empowering the next generation of leaders with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed. Our mission is to create a legacy of effective, confident leaders who can make a positive impact in any industry.
